Swami Vivekananda's views On Advaita vedanta philosophy

Swami Vivekananda was an Advaitaian scholar and greatest  spiritual teacher  of 19th century and to this very day , he and his preaching on Hinduism's Advaita vedanta philosophy is incomparable to any  other spiritual teacher because he made everything accessible to human experience which has been done rarely by any other spiritual teacher .His works on humanism and spirituality became a pillar of Culture and knowledge and this tremendous work of his  sowed a seed for "New India".

Swami Vivekananda  had a very decisive outlook of Vedanta And it's doctrines and he not only preached this philosophical outlooks to the  masses but also taught them how to experience these truths.

His views on the topics such as "Aatman", "Brahman" and "Maya "are very sharp and  his teachings emphasis more on the notion of meta physical aspect of existence.                                                       Though the essence of Advaita Vedanta was whole throughout and Adi Shankaracharya pretty much established it among the masses of India but still  it  need to be propagated more among the masses in order to make them realize true nature of one self . At that time , India was facing many difficulties and drawbacks in terms of freedom from" British Raj "and so many brave sons of our soil had sacrificed  their lives to free their motherland from the hands of British Rule and India was lacking a strong  moral view which can  fuel up the masses and can inspire them to the core and bring them closer transcending the very social drawbacks  such as cast, color and creed  .

So ,Advaita vedanta brought  every Indians  closer irrespective of their cast or creed  and this one of the fundamental reason behind India's success over freedom , even the British people felt frightened because of the mass revolution which took place later in India. This important to mention  that British Administrator also felt threatened because of the mass revolution and they administration mentioned Vivekananda by saying that " Vivekananda has become more dangerous after death than when he was alive". British rulers also felt threatened by the presence of Sri Rama Krishna and that's only because British rulers were afraid of knowledge of oneness which had been propagated by our great spiritual leaders . British rule divided Indians and they knew it was going to be more successful because they knew very well that only thing which could  bring mass separation was the absence of " knowledge of oneness".                                                                                                                                                                           Swami Vivekananda was a "spiritual humanist ". He believed in serving people food ,cloth, knowledge and spiritualism rather than just speaking on Hinduism . Swamji served the people of India because he believed in the greater good of humanity and he challenged the so called traditional belief systems like    " untouchable cast" and he encouraged women to fight for their rights and he literally made every people aware of their surrounding .

This all  Swamiji  accomplished because he believed that he was a  Immortal Soul" and not  just a body or mind  and he sees himself in everybody and he believed that we all are one Brahman just appearing as different . He brought down  the Advaita philosophy in a practical ground ,he reached everybody and he made sure that each one should have the access to this spiritual knowledge .

Swami Vivekananda in a lecture On " Reason And Religion "in England On November 18,1896 said

"The difference  between man and man , between angels and man ,between man and animals ,between animals and plants ,between plants and stones is not in kind , because everyone from the highest angel to lowest particle of matter is but an expression of that one infinite ocean and difference is only in degree. I am on a low manifestation ,you may be a higher manifestation , but both the materials are the same . You and I are both outlets of the same channel , and that is God , as such your nature is God ,so is mine ."

Swami Vivekananda was  the first man who proposed a "Universal Religion "and he worked upon that idea tirelessly because he realized that only a unified and integrated Concept of religion would bring the masses together and  only this only concept can uplift the masses transcending the very suffering  of human life .

Swamiji said" Advaita w ill be future religion of thinking humanity . No doubt about that".

lastly I would like to quote swamiji's own thoughts about Advaita Vedanta and it says

"We have lost faith in ourselves. There fore to preach The Advaita aspect of the Vedanta is necessary to rouse up the hearts of men , to show them the glory of their souls . it is therefore that I preach this Advaita , and I do not as sectarian , but upon universal and widely acceptable grounds".

So , Swami Vivekananda not only a Advaitaian preacher but a "Spiritual Humanist", a prolific reformer of  Indian society, a spiritual teacher and a pillar of modern  Hindu society who worked till the very last day of his life to spiritually uplift the humanity .

So, let us all reunite by going beyond the boundaries of society and religions , let everyone be the expression of that one infinite Soul ,let humanity be the topmost religion.
